Community Associations Institute Launches Idaho Chapter
As CAI's 64th chapter, CAI Idaho supports the state's growing population and expanding housing market of homeowners associations (HOAs), condominiums, and housing cooperatives.
As CAI's 64th chapter, CAI Idaho supports the state's growing population and expanding housing market of homeowners associations (HOAs), condominiums, and housing cooperatives.
Community Associations Institute (CAI), the leading international authority in community association education, governance, and management, is proud to announce the formation of our 64th chapter. Known officially as Idaho CAI , the chapter is the state's first and only professional association representing community associations, commonly referred to as homeowners associations (HOAs), condominiums, and housing cooperatives.
Idaho is home to 1.7 million residents living in nearly 3,000 incorporated community associations, according to the Foundation for Community Association Research. U.S. Census data from 2010–2017 shows that Idaho's population has increased by 62,000 due to the migration of residents from California, Oregon, and Washington state. As Idaho continues to be recognized nationally as one of the best places to live in America, the CAI Idaho Chapter will benefit homeowners, community managers, industry partners, and the local business community through CAI resources, including comprehensive education and credentialing programs. CAI Idaho will offer members the opportunity to attend educational sessions, an annual conference, and a range of networking and state and federal legislative initiatives.
“Our expansion with Idaho CAI is reflective of the state's growing population and the need for builders to create more housing options for Idaho residents," says Crystal Wallace, CAE, CAI's vice president of membership and chapter relations. “As the number of community associations increases in Idaho, the chapter will be a valuable and trusted resource for homeowners living in these planned communities and the professional community managers who help lead these neighborhoods by offering invaluable access to the latest industry resources, training, and networking."
For more than 40 years, CAI has offered education and guidance for community association homeowners, volunteer board members, and businesses serving these communities.
“CAI works diligently to envision the future of community association living, governance, and management worldwide," says Thomas M. Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer. “The expansion of the Idaho Chapter CAI further shows the importance of understanding the key trends in today's community associations. Whether you live in a condo, homeowners association, or co-op, maintaining and improving property values and making communities preferred places to call home is a universal goal."
Joye Jones, CMCA of Sentry Management will serve as the chapter's first president. CAI Idaho plans to host its first event in early fall. For more information about Idaho CAI , visit www.caionline.org.
